Our Purpose

California Women for Agriculture (CWA) was formed in 1975, in the Coachella Valley. The name was chosen to develop a cross section of members. In fact, the nucleus of the first chapter was made up of consumers, as well as farmers. Today our membership is as diverse as the industry we represent; bankers, lawyers, accountants, marketing professionals, consumers AND farmers. With 20 chapters and 2,000 plus members across the state, CWA is the most active, all volunteer agricultural organization in the state and members are actively engaged in public relations, education and legislative advocacy...

Our Mission

To promote an educational program in order to develop the interest of California women in agriculture and to promote agriculture in California. To involve women of the State of California for the following general purposes: to speak on behalf of agriculture in an intelligent, informative, direct and truthful manner; to keep CWA members informed on legislative activities pertaining to agriculture; to join forces when the need arises to deal with agricultural problems in a specific community; to improve the public image of farmers and to develop rapport within agricultural communities throughout the state.

Meet Buttercup

buttercup

Buttercup is a "real" milking cow and is an educational tool used as a REAL hands-on experience for all ages.Buttercup looks like a jersey cow and is branded with the CWA logo on her rear hip, similar to a where a real cattle brand would go!She has a working udder with teats you can really squeeze to get the effect of milking a cow.Buttercup is used by the North Valley Chapter throughout the local region at events, festivals and school functions. The Glenn County Fair cordially invites you to The Centennial Gala Celebration! Please join us on Saturday, December 3rd, 2016 for an evening of dinner, cocktails and dancing as we celebrate the fairs milestone anniversary. Elegant seasonal decor will be provided by Salvagnos Flowers and Design, dinner and drinks will be served by Special Times Catering and party goers will be dancing to the live music of Sacramento's Hit Parade! There will also be a live auction of limited high end items, a dessert auction and a ornately decorated Christmas Tree Auction. This is an evening that you won't want to miss!

Cocktail hour begins at 6pm, dinner is served at 7pm. Tickets are $100 each or $175 per couple
