California Women for Agriculture (CWA) was formed in 1975, in the Coachella Valley. The name was chosen to develop a cross section of members. In fact, the nucleus of the first chapter was made up of consumers, as well as farmers. Today our membership is as diverse as the industry we represent; bankers, lawyers, accountants, marketing professionals, consumers AND farmers. To promote an educational program in order to develop the interest of California women in agriculture and to promote agriculture in California. Buttercup is a "real" milking cow and is an educational tool used as a REAL hands-on experience for all ages.Buttercup looks like a jersey cow and is branded with the CWA logo on her rear hip, similar to a where a real cattle brand would go!She has a working udder with teats you can really squeeze to get the effect of milking a cow.Buttercup is used by the North Valley Chapter throughout the local region at events, festivals and school functions.
